Pathway Law staff working with our Elder & Special Needs Law clients:
Elder law is a growing field of law focusing on issues primarily effecting older clients and clients with long-term care needs, including eligibility for government benefits and MassHealth, estate planning, guardianship and conservatorship, probate of estates and estate and trust administration.
Clients planning for themselves, for a loved one with special needs, or for anyone who may be disabled or have special needs in the future, need to consider how decisions will be made or how funds will be managed on behalf of a person with a disability. In addition, planning must be done to consider, and potentially minimize, the impact that receipt of income or assets may have on someone receiving government benefits. Our lawyers help clients balance the goal of preserving eligibility for government benefits with the aim of enhancing the quality of life for those with special needs.
Whether you are thinking through future possibilities or dealing with existing and immediate needs, our attorneys and staff have the experience and compassion to help you design a plan that is right for you or your loved ones.
Attorney Liane Zeitz is a certified elder law attorney (“CELA”), a designation given by the National Elder Law Foundation to attorneys with demonstrated expertise and experience in the field. Throughout her decades-long career as an elder law attorney, Liane has helped numerous families and elders navigate the complex and emotional terrain of creating and executing a plan for long-term care. In addition to her holistic care of elder law clients, Liane maintains a special interest in advocating for the rights of nursing home residents.
Attorney Amanda Hsiao works closely with Liane to plan for both elders and special needs clients. She began her practice of law as an advocate for low-income clients seeking Social Security disability benefits, and maintains a personal and professional interest in working with families and clients with special needs.
In addition, Liane and Amanda work closely with Susan Traganos, a paralegal with several years of professional experience in the field of elder law and special needs.
